REGIONAL CENTRE OF EXPERTISE MINNA STRENGTHENS START-UP NGOs THROUGH LEADERSHIP AND CAPACITY BUILDING

The Regional Centre of Expertise (RCE), Minna recently spearheaded a transformative training program aimed at enhancing the leadership and capacity of start-up non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in Minna. The event, which took place at RCE Minna Resource center, saw an enthusiastic participation of numerous emerging NGOs seeking to build their capabilities and foster sustainable development in the region.

Organized under the visionary leadership of RCE, Minna, the capacity building and leadership training aimed to equip start-up NGOs with essential skills, knowledge, and strategies necessary for impactful project implementation. The initiative aligned perfectly with RCE’s commitment to promoting sustainability and fostering collaboration among various stakeholders within the community.

The training program comprised a diverse range of interactive sessions and workshops led by distinguished experts in the fields of leadership and NGO management. Participants had the invaluable opportunity to learn from experienced professionals who provided insights into managing NGOs, CBOs and FBOs, public speaking, volunteerism, community mobilization, networking for sustainability, fundraising, time management, proposal writing techniques, prevention of Sexual Exploitation, Abuse and Harassment(PSEAH), and digital mentorship for sustainability.

One of the most special aspect of the event was the presence of Sheikh Nuruddeen Lemu who commended the organisers of the program and advised participants to put in their best in whatever they do as they are leaders already.

The RCE Youth coordinator Ibrahim Aƙibu Jafaru encouraged participants to embrace forward-thinking approaches and responsive strategies to address the unique challenges faced by the local communities they serve. The founder of Salma Attah Foundation, Amrah Aliyu underscored the significance of networking and collaboration as vital tools for amplifying impact and achieving sustainable growth.

As the participating NGOs return to their respective organizations, armed with newfound knowledge and skills, while also promising to use what they learnt into practice, it is expected that their endeavors will be met with renewed vigor and effectiveness.
