NIGER STATE GOVERNOR Commissions An ICT Hub Donated by Zenith Bank Branch in Minna the State Capital
Governor Umar mohammad Bago while commissioning the new ICT hub said the initiative is aimed at developing information and Communication Technology to the youths and as well tackle the issue of unemployment, explaining that the government can not actually employ everyone but can creat an amble environment for job creation
The Governor further stated that a portal that will accommodate 250 youths at a time will be opened and the exercise will be on a quarterly basis
The Governor appreciated Zenith Bank PLC for the kind gesture and urge the youth to take advantage of the initiative.
Commissioner for Communication Technology and Digital Economy, Suleiman Isah in his welcome address, described the gesture as significant in the journey towards achieving a digital economy transformation in the State.
Hon. Suleiman Isah explained the important role ICT plays in society saying, it is the driving force behind the socio-economic development of a society.
Deputy Zonal Manager, North Central , Zenith Bank, Hassan Abdulsalam said the initiative is part of the institution’s corporate Social Responsibility to their various host communities explaining that such has been done in more than 20 states.
While commending the efforts of the present administration Hassan Abdulsalam revealed that Zenith bank will give youth center a new face lift.
The ICT Centre is equipped with 120 computer sets, communication routes, three sets of communication switches, CCTV with 36 Channels, 20 KVA UPS, 80 KVA generator, and MTN Radio link among others.
