NIGER STATE COUNCIL OF NUJ ASSURES NSCDC STATE COMMAND OF CONTINUED SYNERGY
The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ),Niger state Council, says its members are practicing in accordance with the ethical codes of journalism,and would continue to synergy with relevant security agencies to rid the state of crime and criminalities.
The Chairman,NUJ,Niger State Council,Comrade Abu Nmodu,disclosed this when the state NSCDC, Commandant paid courtesy visit to the council, at IBB Pen House,Minna.
Comrade Abu Nmodu explained that majority of the members have improved their skills from the Councils training and retraining initiative within and outside the state in order to keep them abreast with the dynamism of the profession.
The NUJ boss expressed delight with the visit and promised of continue collaboration between the council and NSCDC state command.
Earlier, the State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Commander Willie Elijah Etim said the aim of the visit was to seek for collaboration between the two organisations especially in the area of publicity and media coverage.
He intimated the Chairman on the activities of the Command,adding that the Command was into Safe School Initiative aimed at eliminating any incident that poses a threat to security and safety of schools in the State.
Commander Elijah Etim,pointed out that the Command was aware of the importance of collaboration with various Institutions and organisations as proactive means of checking insecurity hence the visit.
He added that the Command have a robust Crisis Management Directorate that strives through synergy with other agencies to Safeguard lives and properties in the State.
