News Report: Pusdung Niger Cultural Festival 2023
The Ngas Development Association,Niger State Chapter has celebrated it’s second edition of festival of arts culture,with the theme,”Puusdung Niger 2023″.
The festival witnessed unprecedented turn of Ngas residents in Minna the capital,and other parts of the state,held at Abdulsalam Youth Center,Minna.
The Ngas Cultural Festival was aimed at showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the Ngas people who are originally from Plateau State.
The cultural festival not only serve as a platform to celebrate and preserve the Ngas Cultural identity,but,also aimed to raise funds for the construction of the Ngas house.
The Ngas house if completed, will serve as a central hub for Ngas Cultural activities,as well as provide space for community engagement and cultural preservation amongst Ngas.
Earlier, the Speaker Niger State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Abdulmalik Sarkin Daji who was the special guest of honour at the event, made a personal donation of five hundred thousand naira to the association,
The Speaker commended the organizers of the cultural festival and assured of the Assembly support at all times.
Also Speaking,The immediate past Governor of Niger state and Senator representing Zone C, Sen. Abubakar Sani Bello who was represented by Usman Tinau Muhammad Jagaban Minna,made a donation of one million naira for the completion of the Ngas house.
The Minority Whip of Plateau State House of Assembly who represents Pankshin North constituency Hon. Gabriel Kudangbena Dewan described the Ngas culture as one of the best cultures in the world,appealed to his counterparts in Niger State to employ some of their people into the service of the state.
National President Ngas Youths who doubles as the National Chairman Indigenous Ethnics Youth Leaders of Nigeria, Engr. Nensok Luka Gonet says the annual cultural festivities was the only ways which art and culture can be promoted in Nigeria.
In his closing remarks,the Chairman, Ngas Development Association Minna Branch,CDR Bitrus Kopji Simon disclosed what inspired the whole festival of arts and culture for the Ngas community.
Highlight of the event includes traditional dance performances by the Nhitshi dancers, pargol group and Gbagyi dancers, magical displays, Nwong (masquerades) display, and presentation of awards to Hon. Gabriel Kudangbena Dewan and Mr. Simon Papi.
