ENSURE EQUAL DISTRIBUTION, TRANSPARENCY…NIGER SSG CHARGES PALLIATIVES COMMITTEE IN GAWU-BABANGIDA
The Secretary to the Niger State Government (SSG), Alhaji Abubakar Usman has tasked the committees saddled with responsibilities of distributing palliatives in Gawu-Babangida, Gurara Local Government Area of the State to ensure transparency, accountability and equal distribution of the items so as to meet the desired objectives.
Alhaji Usman gave the charge when he monitored distribution of palliatives in Maiyaki, Kofan Gidan Hakimi, Model Primary School, Police Barracks and Dawaki Polling Units in Gawu-Babangida.
The SSG further told the people of the area that the State Government is determined to see that the palliatives reach the intended beneficiaries in order to help them especially at this critical time of need.
He revealed that the distribution of palliatives was aimed at ameliorating the suffering of the people occasioned by the removal of fuel subsidy.
According to the SSG, “the present administration led by Rt. Hon. Mohammed Umar Bago is committed to ensuring the comfort of Nigerlites through delivering dividends of democracy and provision of physical projects as well as implementing impactful programmes and policies”.
Alhaji Usman explained that unity, peace and security remain vital ingredients for progress and development of any State, hence the need for people to live peacefully with one another regardless of religious, political or tribal affiliations.
He urged the people of the State to pray fervently with a view to enabling the present administration succeed in its determination to move the State forward.
Expressions of joy were on the faces of teeming beneficiaries of the palliatives, as they picked their items in Gawu-Babangida, some of the residents who benefited from the distribution of the palliative expressed satisfaction with the steps taken by the Governor to cushion the biting effects of fuel subsidy removal in the State.
